Install FM Server & FM Application on the Mac server.
Install ONLY the FM Application on the clients connecting to your server.

  1. Download this file (Right-click and choose 'Save link as...) and place it into the ‘Home > Documents’ folder of the server’s admin user. This should be the currently logged in and only user on the Mac server.
  2. Please download and install the correct version/s of FileMaker to the server as well as each client that will be connecting to the server:
  3. Once Server has launched, go to ‘Administration’ and click on ‘Import License Certificate’. Browse for and point to the file from step 1. Enter “iCheckin LLC” into the Organization field. Click Change.
  4. In the FileMaker Server web console:
    • If it’s not visible, select ‘View > Show Favorites Bar’ from the menu at the top of the screen
    • Add the server console webpage to the Safari ‘Favorites’ bar.
Information

When launching server for the first time, you will receive a notification explaining the importance of using an SSL certificate. It is safe to use the default certificate in our environment as all transactional data is confined to your local network. If you wish to use a certificate from a CA, you are welcome to do so, but installing it is beyond the scope of this document. If you don’t understand the process please reach out to your IT or network administrator for further guidance.
